The Oregon Gardens

I feel so fortunate to live in such a beautiful state! I love all the trees and grass and flowers and mountains, and so on. It's breathtaking. Unfortunately the main reason it's so gorgeous is the nine months of rain we get every year!  (That's beside the point. It just happens to be raining right now so it's on my mind.)
I got to go and see the amazing Oregon garden in Silverton, with my kiddos on the home school day they have each year. My sis in law, Mindy and her daughter Molly went with us. We had so much fun!

Here they are contemplating the fountain
It's really kid friendly and for home school day they had stations set up throughout the gardens where the kids did experiments, learned how to compost, and poked around in pond water, checking out all the animals and plant life in there.
One of many frogs and fish we saw.
They each had a little passport that was stamped at each station.

Banana tree outside the tropical garden.
It wasn't too crowded and the weather was beautiful and warm, thankfully, because it had been raining all the rest of the week.

Molly and Hailey sitting pretty.
It was a fun time for the kids but also for the grown ups, Mindy is such a delight and I'm so glad we're related! She makes me laugh and is super helpful with the baby. I loved every minute of our day together.

Poor dog! The kids loved this pet friendly garden.
I highly recommend checking the Oregon Garden out sometime with your family, it's a surprisingly interesting and pretty way to spend your day.
