This Saturday we had the first ever Women's Clothing Swap at our church. It was so much fun! I was a little nervous wheather hardly anyone would show up or if we would end up with WAY too much stuff. We ended up somewhere near way too much but it turned out to be great.
We had Ladies bring gently used clothes from home and drop them off Friday night.
I had a wonderful team of volunteers who just whipped the growing chaos into organized order. As more and more clothing started coming in, the pile was growing into a mountain faster than they could put them away!
But soon a system developed and those super women made the gym into a cute little boutique.
We had a few younger volunteers who not only were very helpful but also provided some comic relief! :)
Then Saturday the women came back and got to shop for new to them items. Boy did they have fun.
Everyone was all smiles and walking away with armloads of fun new clothes.
It was a blessing to recieve new items, but I also heard so many women being so happy that other ladies were taking their things and going to use them! It was such a minisrty to each other and really fun time of fellowship!
All the items we had left over were donated to the Simonka Place in Keizer, a women's shelter. The ladies there were just tickled at the huge amount of nice women's clothing we were able to donate to them. Thank you to everyone who helped make this event such a success! I can't wait to plan another one next year!

What a neat idea Connie!
You did so great Connie! It was fun to find out what it was all about and get some "new" to me clothes! THanks for working so hard in organizing it and for all your volunteers who helped!
I was so proud at how well you did - not surprised, but very proud! I had a ball helping AND shopping. We had so much good feedback from women who were blessed on many levels from this event. Can't wait to do it again!!
