Laundry limits
My kids are getting older. They are capable now of cleaning their own rooms. However I've noticed a slight set back. I think my son has a new technique for quickly cleaning up his laundry. Do you see it?
Yes, there is a perfectly clean shirt in that giant pile of laundry! And it's still on the HANGER! Seriously!? Can you see how out of control my laundry is anyway! I do not need to be washing perfectly clean clothes still on their hangers!
Don't worry. There was a very clear lesson on laundry that followed this discovery. He will head off to college with a very extensive knowledge of laundry after I get through with him! Are you with me moms? This has got to stop! Fellow laundry slaves unite!

My girls are theoretically capable of putting their own laundry away. I put a basket full of clean and folded clothes in their room and tell them to deal with it. I come back in half an hour later and they have thrown everything into two big piles on the floor and are just stuffing it into drawers unfolded! They said it's easier when it's in piles like that! This is after I'd just spent a good part of the afternoon folding laundry. Yes...I did freak out a little. Why should I even bother!
I'm there with ya! Josiah is getting into a habit of changing outfits a couple times a day! REALLY? :) I wish there was a way we could snap our fingers and it would all get done by itself...unfortunately no...that won't happen I know...this is an UNENDING job! There is no light at the end of the tunnel...or is there? :)
seriously - I would LOVE to have Mary Poppins' skills! Sometimes it takes a whole lot more than just a "spoonful of sugar" to get my chores done happily! Wouldn't it be awesome if the house cleaned itself every time I snapped (my fingers, that is :)?
Good job on teaching Ethan some good laundry skills, Connie! Rich grew up doing his own laundry at a young age and he really is pretty helpful around the house!
Too funny! I laugh now, but my son is still a bit young to successfully clean his room by himself. And he can't reach the washing machine, so I guess his laundry lesson will have to wait a few years. Good luck to you!
