Spring break project #1

So the idea was to blog a sewing project every day of the week for spring break. But I had no rod for the curtain that I made yesterday. Since it just wouldn't be the same laying on the carpet I decided I would have to double that one up on a different day. That day is not today because I still have not left my house and gotten a rod at the store. BUT..... I did make a new ironing board cover to show you!! My ironing board gets used almost daily and the cover was definitely showing the wear.

Not to mention, it is stinking ugly! I have an annoying iron too that leaks water all over and it has totally stained the cover. There is also fusible interfacing gunk on it.

Totally time for a new, much cuter one!

So much better right?!!

I used a combination of tutorials that I found when I googled "How to make an ironing bard cover" I had to make it completely from scratch and then decided to add some batting to it and quilt it a little bit. The quilting is wonky and that mostly because I'm lazy. Not at all because I'm not very good at quilting cute patterns. (ahem)

Over all I am very pleased with the finished product. And it really only took me about 30 minutes! Big improvement for a little bit of time!

So cute. I might be inspired to make one, too, or fix the one I have. It keeps falling off. Not sure how to fix that. Thanks for sharing your creativeness.

I can't believe you ironed my pants on that old Ironing Board...it was nasty. I just hope the pink doesn't rub off on my work clothes!

Great Job Dear!
