Russ and I took Hailey fishing on the free fishing day earlier this month. I used to fish a lot with my Dad when I was a little girl. He had a private pond he would stock and we would feed the fish until they were big and then catch them and eat 'em! Spoiled, I know. We went to a really cute pond about 30 minutes from home. It was beautiful and no one else was there for quite awhile, Hailey enjoyed all the wildlife we saw, like all the giant frogs!
It was surprisingly still really fun! I loved watching the wonder on Hailey's face as she watched that first fish emerge wiggling and splashing. She was fearless too and hooked the worms and held the fish no problem!
That's my girl! I especially enjoyed watching Russ teach Hailey what to do just like my dad did.
Ethan was at his grandma's house so this was some special little girl time. She love it! And so did we. We took home all five little fish and fried them up and eat them! They were super yummy!

Nothing beats watching a Daddy teaching and helping their children. I love to watch Jeremy with Kaden too. :)
Finally a man of my word...One of the first times I showed interest in Connie, way back in high school, I told her that I would take her fishing. It only took me 13yrs to fulfill that promise.
We had a great time! I didn't think I was much of a fisherman, but as far as I know we are the only people who caught ANY fish at this pond that day.
I'm pretty sure it wasn't me the fish liked but the cute girls holding the other end of the pole...
