The quilt

Does anyone remember this quilt quilt top I put together over spring break of last year?

From the kit that I was given as an early birthday gift from all my sweet friends at my surprise weekend at Sisters?

The time has come to get this thing finished. I have settled into the baby routine enough to figure out a little time for sewing again and I forgot how much I LOVE it! That has me all excited about finishing old projects so I can start new ones. I noticed this lovely quilt top that has been quietly sitting, waiting for me to give it attention for almost a year. I decided to make it my goal to have it finished by the one year anniversary of my 30th birthday weekend in Sisters. That is coming up in November. So I thought about it for about one second and decided that my junky machine is not the right choice to quilt this lovely and rather largish quilt. I have decided to pay someone local to quilt it for me. I am oddly relived and happy about this choice but also feel a bit of shame. I feel like I can't truly claim that I made it if someone else quilts it for me. But I have decided I don't care. I would rather have it look beautiful instead of puckery and weird so it's heading to the shop this weekend and should be done in time for my self imposed deadline! I am so excited to see it finished and laying in all it's glory on the end of my bed! Yippee!
