sprinkler fun with the nephews

I was lucky enough to enjoy a few afternoons with two of my nephews last week. It was HOT, and so we went into the backyard and turned on the sprinkler. I grabbed my magazine and sunglasses and just enjoyed the wild laughter and silly games that my kids and nephews played all afternoon. I felt like I was on vacation! Just lounging by the pool, er, sprinkler. My husband is anti little backyard swimming pool. ("It wastes water! " "It'll kill the grass!") I love that guy, he is so green! (said with a sly little smile.) So we just enjoyed a really relaxed afternoon together getting wet, eating popsicles and sunbathing!

I'm with Russell on the backyard mini-pool thing. It does kill the grass! Not that the grass in our backyard is anything to be proud of, not like your nice green lawn. Plus, no worries about a baby falling in the pool (though your kids are beyond that stage). The sprinkler is still fun, plus it actually waters the grass while they're playing in it. Win-win!

That is his thought exactly. We do love it too, it's just that he did give in to the pleading one year and they had such a blast, seriously HOURS of fun. They really miss it now. But they are having fun just getting wet any way they can so it's all good!

Looks like fun!! I love to hang out in the back while Lily swims too-except I can't stand the heat for too long! :)

@Connie...

I think what you meant was "literally hours".

After 2-3 hours the pool had a leak and it is still in the side-yard. I don't know how to get rid of a 9 foot diameter busted up piece of plastic!

Reason #289 not to have a mini-pool.
