lil' summer skirt

Yesterday I whipped up a sweet little summer skirt for Hailey from a tiny little pattern that I got at the Sisters quilt store. ( I am obsessed with the Stichin post) I haven't sewn clothes for Hailey much but would really love to more. I just never want to take the time to measure everything and get the size right. But it wasn't that bad and it went so fast after I calculated the measurements. ( math is not my strong point)

It was well worth it, it is so satisfying to see your child playing outside in something you made and it actually looks pretty cute! She loved it and put it on immediately.

I made a little matching flower pin to pull the outfit together and I like it so much I'm thinking of making a cluster of these for a headband for her.

Our weekend was so relaxing and slow. We just went with the flow and took full advantage of having no plans. Ordinarily we would have gone somewhere or made some plans with someone but we didn't. Instead we just hung out as a family; made a big breakfast, let the kids play at the park, took walks, took naps, read books, had water fights, went to church, rode bikes, ate lots of popsicles, and I got to sew a little. Perfect relaxing and bonding weekend for our little family. July looks to be a VERY busy month for us and all weekends are packed. I'm so thankful we stuck it out and resisted the urge to go and do and just were.
